Stifling the Muse...

(Muse speaks in a blue fontSiren in red. And Jenn? In boring ol' black. Don't know what we're talking about? Check out this post: Does Your Creativity Have a Name?)

Dear Jenn,

You may brag you put the pro in procrastinate. But what you're really doing is stifling me. Deciding something else is more important than me or your writing.

Here's a list of the top ten ways you stifle me...

1) Checking your email.
2) Checking Facebook.
3) Checking other peoples' blogs.
4) Comparing them to your own blog.
5) Checking Facebook again (just in case something major happened in the last 10 minutes).
6) Deciding to throw in a load of laundry.
7) Or empty the dishwasher.
8) Watching TV.
9) Or a movie.
10) Looking for writing contests.

So, I'm writing this to tell you to stop. Stop stifling me. Just write already! Just let the words flow! And have fun.

Your stifled friend,
Musie

Love that. But if we didn't procrastinate, how else would we connect with other writers? :)

By the way, your little guy down there is adorable.

  2. Krista, excellent point. Connecting with other writers can be super encouraging.

And thanks--I think he's adorable too. But then, I could be biased. ;)
